If you plan to bring your cellular phone from home, you must have it activated at the International airport by Belize Telecommunications Ltd.

Departure Tax: $40.00 US departure tax per person required when leaving the Belize International Airport.

Electricity:- 110 volts A.C., same as North America.

Immunizations: - No immunizations are required for Belize as long as you are up to date on all normal inoculations. Malaria medication is not necessary for your stay at Bahia Laguna. You should consider Malaria medication for extended stays in the jungle.

 

Medical attention: A part time doctor and a pharmacy are available in Placencia. In the event of a serious medication emergency, the British Forces helicopters are available 24 hours a day. In Belize City, a Private Medical Clinic is adjacent to the new Hospital.

Time zone: The time zone is Central Standard. Daylight savings is not observed.
